The Gas and Regina tools from Miriam are computing flow, pressure, gas compositions, and levels
at different segment of the network and are recording the different in the database. The events are
currently used to compute to total deliverability of the system, the components to blame, etc ... A
small playback module is implemented to allow the user to have a basic overview if his model is
reacting the way it should. The current module is basically made for debugging purpose and is all
but user friendly. The aim of this project is to build an advanced playback module that would allow navigating the message stack and see the networking changing accordingly. This project offers a lot of room for creativity and user front-end design. The basic idea is to find ways to show nicely on the network itself the impact of the different changes and the new values for the different parameters of the different components. For example a storage level drawing could move up and done depending on the value and change color is above or under critical values.
An advanced part of the project would be to be able to demonstrate “What if” scenario which means
that based on several run with several parameters, the playback would propose a dash board and
would allow to jump from one scenario to another one when selecting different parameter on the
dash board. This would be very useful to compare different scenario. A typical example would be to
follow the evolution of the flow on model where some components have different failures
distributions and see at different time period how each scenario is performing.
